Survival Experience

Boswa presents a survival experience as a basic introduction to the world of bushcraft and survival. On the day you will learn about bushcraft , the basics of survival , fire lighting techniques , survival kits , navigation and shelters.

We conduct this experience from our bush camp in the Magaliesberg mountains and is open to anyone regardless of age or physical ability.

We specialize in designing an experience specifically for your party, company, 4x4 club, outdoor club, school etc around the activities and environment you will most likely encounter. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Basic Survival Course AN ADVENTURE WEEKEND THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE !

Survival training officialy starts here. On the basic survival course you will learn all the skills needed to survive in a survival situation. After this course you will have the knowledge and skill to look after yourself when exploring the wilderness. We cover all the basics of survival and also introduce you to the world of bushcraft.

On this course we cover fire, shelter, food, water, traps, navigation, survival kits, cutting techniques, knife sharpening, dangerous animals, sleeping systems, ropes and knots and fish preparation.

This course is open to anyone regardless of fitness or physical ability. (Any student under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult). This is not an endurance course but rather a bushcraft and survival skills course where we teach you the skills you need to survive.

Numbers are limited to 15 participants to ensure a good instructor to student ratio which ensures that you can try your hands at all the required skills. Bookings are essential as our basic survival course is our most popular course and places fill up fast.

Advanced Survival Course

After having completed the basic survival course you can participate in the advanced survival course. Bushcraft and survival skills are learned on an individual basis where mastering all the relevant skills are our main focus. You will master the skill of friction firelighting, make you own traps, experience getting water from a solar still and transpiration bag, learn game preparation and try your hands on making primitive weapons and bushcraft campcraft.

This course is only open to students that have completed our basic survival course as we follow a progressive teaching program and skills learned on the basic course is essential for the advanced course.

We require a minimum of 4 participants to run this course.

Bushcraft Survival Course

This is the best survival experience that you will find in the African bush ! On the Bushcraft Survival course we will set up a camp and rely on our bushcraft and survival skills to experience what survival is all about ...

We take limited food supplies and rather try to get food and water, make fire with primitive methods and make shelter in the bush. We also focus on Bushcraft where you will learn and experience the art of making tools and campcraft to enable primitive living.

We take a maximum of 8 participants on the bushcraft survival course and the course is only open to students that have followed our progressive course program and have completed the advanced survival course.

Extreme Survival Course

This is the survival experience that you do not want to miss. This elite level of our courses are for the men and woman that are tough enough to survive for 3 days with the absolute minimum of food, water, shelter and supplies. You will have to survive using your skill and knowledge with a basic survival kit to complete this course.

Instructors will camp close by to ensure the safety of participants but you will be on your own in a scenario survival situation. This course is as much about mental preparation as it is physical and you will know how it feels to survive after the course. Participants that want to participate in this course will be evaluated by instructors before the course and we normally know who will be able to make it after the advanced course.
